Over five years of success achieved by Team Zapco in major international competitions have driven Zapco to seek further performance improvements, thanks also to the new components available today. Maximum attention has been paid to the components used, from resistors and capacitors to OPs, without excluding other elements such as more accurate BIAS adjustment. A switch has also been added for use with unbalanced inputs, and the power has been increased.

New transformers, new capacitors, new high-power voltage regulators (so the amplifiers can operate at the maximum supply voltage, typically 14.4 volts, even with a flat battery), and new OPs, upgradeable, like in the Reference Series. Z-AT amplifiers offer the possibility of replacing the original OPs with even higher-performance OPs. This operation can be done quite easily, since the OPs are mounted on sockets and not soldered.

The Z-AT amplifiers share the same dimensions as the APs, allowing them to be used together; only the top plate is titanium-finished instead of gold.
