9000 — High-End Speaker Series

Merging advanced aircraft engine and speaker technology

The new 9000 Series consists of some of the most technologically advanced car speakers ever produced. Technology and design come together in a new and unusual aesthetic, thanks to the particular flower shape of the flanges around the tweeter dome, and in the baskets of the cone speakers. But the unique shape was not to achieve an aesthetic form factor. It is an expression of ESB’s innovation.

The result is that the acoustic refraction on the edges of the speakers will be less damaged if the outer edge is not equidistant from the center. An analogy can be found in the new Rolls Royce aircraft engines that have the same shape on the back edge (where the greatest turbulence is). This is not just a random analogy; both are constructive choices… effectively channeling the air flow outside. That's just one inspiration for a speaker series full of technical innovation.

Woofer — Main Features

  • The pole cup, designed with magnetic flux analysis software, helps to achieve perfect and homogeneous saturation of the magnetic gap for the benefit of the voice coil stroke. Always immersed in constant magnetic flux, this reduces distortion and increases dynamics.
  • Generously sized neodymium magnet: high-temperature neodymium that shrinks the motor versus an equivalent ferrite magnet.
  • Pole yoke with special internal ventilation for voice-coil life.
  • Gold-plated terminals that accept large-gauge cable.
  • Cast-aluminum, powder-coated basket. FEM-checked shape to cut vibration and resonance.
  • Spider clamp screwed to the central pole. Conex™ spider inside the voice coil with balanced, progressive stiffness.
  • Underhung aluminum voice coil, vented and black-anodized. Winding shorter than the gap so the coil stays in the field and distortion stays low.
  • High-modulus carbon cone, molded under vacuum and autoclave.
  • NBL rubber surround — smooth at small stroke, tighter as you approach Xmax.
  • CNC-machined aluminum clamp ring. Optional CNC aluminum grille.

Tweeters — Main Features

  • TCA system (9.1T-28) for back airflow. Cuts turbulence and sets dome damping.
  • Pole cup CNC-machined from ultra-low-carbon steel.
  • N52H neodymium main magnet. High force-to-mass and high-temperature support (120°F vs 80°F on standard neo).
  • Ultra-low-carbon steel magnet plate.
  • Secondary magnet on the 9.1T-28 to park flux on the coil.
  • Pure copper ring to cut inductance so high frequencies and transients stay clean.
  • FCA system (9.1T-28) damps the air the dome moves so energy dumps fast, without ringing.
  • Light aluminum voice coil, aluminum winding with a copper skin.
  • Pure Japanese silk dome, resin-impregnated, integrated suspension, one piece. No joint, no breakup there.
  • Felt ring. Stainless grille. Faceplate used as an acoustic lens to cut side refractions off glass.
  • Eight installation accessories on the 9.1T-25.

Midranges — Main Features

  • Magnet pole yoke designed with flux-analysis software for a saturated, even gap.
  • Pure copper ring in the 9.4M gap to cut inductance.
  • TCA airflow control on the cone.
  • Twin coupled high-temperature neodymium magnets on the 9.4M.
  • CNC ultra-low-carbon pole plate. Gold-plated large-gauge terminals.
  • Die-cast powder-coated aluminum basket, FEM-checked.
  • Wide, light Nomex coil with aluminum winding. Large balanced Conex™ spider.
  • Vacuum/autoclave high-modulus carbon cone. NBL surround.
  • Laminated aluminum dust cap and CNC clamp ring on the 9.4M. Optional CNC aluminum grille.

9.1T-28 — CNC metal housing

The 9.1T-28 can be installed with the optional gun-metal anodized flange for spaces up to 95 mm. A silver finishing ring holds with magnets. The flange adds a rear chamber for more low-end from the tweeter.

9.1T-25 — Installation accessories

Eight car-specific mounting adapters ship with the 9.1T-25, plus a rear threaded hole for odd locations.

EISA Award

The ESB 9000 / Novemila series won EISA In-Car High-End Component for 2024–2025. The jury cited exclusive materials, N52H motors, Japanese-silk tweeter domes with integrated suspensions, and vacuum/autoclave carbon cones. That award is for the line.
